Getting The Perfect Fit...The Definitive Qwertee Sizing Guide

Hi Guys,

One of the main things that can put people off buying clothes online is they can't try them on first. It's a legitimate problem so here at Qwertee, we figured we'd tackle this in 2 ways. Firstly we'll provide you with as much information as possible on our t shirt's sizing to make it easy for you to pick a great fitting tee. Secondly we have the Qwertee GuraranTEE. This means if you are not happy with your tee for any reason you can return it to us within 14 days of purchase. This means you can buy completely risk free, safe in the knowledge that if you are not happy with the size you can return it to us for another size/refund etc. We are completely serious when we say we'll do "whatever it takes to make sure you happy" when you are shopping with Qwertee, and making sure you get a great fitting tee is a good way to start!

Sizing Chart
The easiest way of getting the perfect fit is through our sizing chart. It's on the homepage (Today's Tee) to the right of the size buttons (it says Click Here for Sizing Info). The sizing chart will give you the measurements of our shirts, just grab your favourite tee and a measuring tape to find the size that is best for you. If you are in between 2 sizes always go on the larger, chances are your favourite tee has shrunk a little since you got it. Shirt sizes can vary by +/- 2cm, and will shrink by 1-2 cm over time. If in doubt, go on the bigger size! NB: Our Women's tees are small so you might need to order a size bigger than usual!

Shrinkage
All 100% cotton t-shirts will shrink over time, it is inevitable. That said we use pre-shrunk shirts to try and minimise any future shrinkage. The best way to ensure your shirt lives a long and happy life is to wash it cool (40 degrees Celsius max, 30 or even 20 will do fine) and hang it to dry as opposed to using a tumble dryer. If you wash your shirt in too hot a wash or dry it in a tumble dryer it will shrink more.

To give you an idea of what to expect in terms of shrinkage please consult our very informative diagram. We washed this large shirt 20 times and hung it to dry each time. We then placed it on top of a new grey large shirt to show you what it looks like in comparison. Basically the shirt shrank about 1cm in length, 2-3 cm in width and 1-2cm around the arms.

Size Comparison Charts:

Another way of ensuring you get the perfect fitting tee is to compare our shirts with other well known brands of t-shirts. That way, if you know you normally wear a Medium in Brand X, you can compare it to Qwertee below and work out what the best size is for you. We compare our shirts with American Apparel, H&M and TopMan. We should point out that t-shirt sizes can vary even within a certain brand so the most accurate way to get the right fit is with our sizing chart.

We'll add more sizing information to this section over time, including women's shirt sizes.

NB: Our Women's tees are small so you might need to order a size bigger than usual!

If there are other particular comparisons you would like to see please let us know.

Hopefully the above information will help you to pick the perfect t-shirt size.

Another thing to not is that sizes will always vary by a few cm in each dimension for various reasons, so don't get too hung up on exact dimensions, just go as close as you can, and if in doubt go on the bigger of the two sizes.

Hope this was of some help!

Thanks,
Qwertee

I'd like the photos of the comparison of t-shirts regarding the shrinkage to actually work. Other than that this was very helpful - except there's no comparison for women...

I would like the width measurement at the bottom of the shirts as well for the womens sizes. Big hipped grll..

Another shout-out for talls, especially women's talls. So sad with buying men's shirts all the time. :(

For women's tees, I think you should go with dress sizes. There's no way to judge what t-shirt size you need if you have a large bust!

Also, you should totally start doing baby tees!! How amazing would that be!

Yeah, some bigger women's sizes would be lovely.

I think it would be nice if you did chest sizes in inches, particularly with women's sizes: looking at the size chart I'm getting confused because none of them seem right!

How does it make sense that the child's XL be BIGGER in measurements than a Women's XL?? How is that possible? A child's XL is listed as 19/26" with a Women's XL is 18.5/25.6"... Wait what?

Ditto on the larger women's sizes! I can usually wear an XL, but even the XXL size under the women's measurements is too small for me!

Would you please tell me the difference between the old womens t-shirts and the new (especially the measurment of M, because I've got an 'old' womens t-shirt size M and it fits perfectly). Thanks a lot!

4X shirts would be great and I would happily pay a pound or two more for the roominess.
