What’s a day in the life of Matt like?
It’s an amazing rollercoaster jet-set lifestyle, which looks suspiciously like me staring at a computer screen all day – sometimes I sleep.
How did you get your start in art?
I’ve been drawing since I can remember, I’m still trying to figure out how to turn it into a full-time job though.
What’s your art process like, from initial sketch to finished product?
It varies from piece to piece but most of the time I’ll start with reference images, a biro sketch and then Photoshop / Illustrator over the top. A lot of sugar and caffeine also helps.

Most Browncoats stuff has the point down - I think the general take on it is that Mal's unit 'aimed to misbehave' and wore theirs upside-down (even if it was just a mistake in real life).

And yes, the star should point down, just like you have it up there. Don't change it!

Just to head off any comments, I published the design of this shirt back on the 9th of March on my Facebook fan page, well before any other Browncoats shirts that have been around since :)

The more Browncoats/Firefly shirts, the better. I like that everyone has their own take on it! I also like that you made a conscious decision to go with the star design placement facing up, I like your take on why you went with it.
Congrats, I certainly will be buying it to add to my Firefly t-shirt collection. I "inherited" my brother's Blue Sun t-shirt when he passed Nov last year (So I said it wasn't to be given to charity, I'd keep it), it's too small for me right now, but I refuse to part with it. Since then though, I've been introduced to the world of limited t-shirt sites & have picked up some great Firefly ones... You may just be sharing the love of a great show, but each time you design a great Firefly tee, I get to keep this special little thing going.
