Personally, I prefer the sword without the stone.. but an excellent idea, so would buy either way! I vote for blue!

I prefer it without the sword too but I agree with the people who have said that it needs to be more recognisable as Excalibur, so I thought I would make a version with a stone and see how it is recieved

You are correct and I am aware of the original legends, however, I did try to do a hand as suggested and It looked too awkward. Either way, people tend to associate a sword in the stone with merlin over a lady's hand on the hilt so I decided to go in that direction. The site you found is correct and he does indeed forge the blade with the help of a Dragon's breath. The series used a great deal of artistic licence on the story line and it has been changed somewhat, but it makes for a great series anyway and I fully advise you to watch them all :)

Not giving too much away, the BBC Merlin series where the Excalibur on this shirt is from, eventually ends up in a stone further in the story line, which was another reason i favoured the stone over the hand. Saying this, they do incorporate the lady of the lake as well, but it is quite vague.

Shirt's cool, but the long stick with the bulb on top and the beaded flute so don't seem belong with the rest. Maybe even enough so that it might actually work, wearing it just to confuse the hell out if everyone.

Not really because most people know that the 'long stick' is Gandalfs Staff and the 'flute' Is the elder wand, if they are real fans :)

It's just...how do you choose? I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan, but I respect it for its mythology, but to try to choose between Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Arthurian Legend, and Lord of the Rings? How is that even humanly possible. If you're a nerd at least.

I'd pick the sonic: I'm a non-violent gal, may as well go for the most peace-friendly weapon. ;)

This may be more the fault of the artist for the elder wand than for your shirt design, but I'm just saying, walking around with something like that on your shirt changes the conversation. One of these things is not like the other, and such.
