I drew this some time ago and now I vectorized it for a stencil. Hope you like it!
I think this has got to be one of the best word designs I have ever seen. Usually either the words or the image is hard to see/read but in this, both are really clear. Very very effective. Awesome design.
Surely this must print - I think heather grey or perhaps charcoal would be especially good - congratulations on a great design!

I still prefer the white one even if its not that "buy-able"....
Same for me; the white shirt is supposed to represent Joker's face, so another color would just be a compromise, but I'm ok with that, if it's what people want. Also, I wear white in a fabulously.
It's gotta stay on white
>quote:38525
Its nearly at 300 votes in just a few days. I think people are fine with white
What you say, dcrosskill, can be true, but you have to understand that the voting community is very little compared to the total traffic of the site, and is also composed by quite different people, mainly designers.
What qwertee is trying to say is that I should find a version that could satisfy the wider public, not just a cool design printed on a tee, or this could be a total flop at the sale.
I'll work on something this afternoon; then I would suggest to set up a poll on facebook, to see what color the wider public prefer AND how wide the response actually is. If it smells like failing, I have no problems on withdrawing this. I've got many cool designs in my HDD and I'm already pleased with the positive response for this! But, yes, I'd like it printed, so let me work on something else, then we can see if a poll is possible.
This shirt really is pretty great, It's original and nothing like the others. you have my vote.
Love this shirt!!! :)
I hope you don't mind, but I just drew up a (really rough) way of putting it on charcoal without feathering it, I'd like to see this printed so it'd be a shame if it was shelved just because of shirt colour

Nice man. And thank you. Can you send me just the white stain via mail ([email protected])? So I can also thank you privately.
Done and done!
New design, thanks to Frederick http://i.minus.com/iZC7ACTM4Huzz.png
I still think with all the mock up designs, the white one is still the best. You don't see many white t shirts on qwertee, I would definitely get this when/if it gets printed.

For you to have to withdraw this awesome t-shirt would have been a crime against humanity.
Glad to see white won the poll. Wonder if its because I voted twice :)

i love it in white. please print this!!
GONNA GET PRINTED.
If you want to know the date, like my fb page http://on.fb.me/Ow6VKP
Just ordered:)
Awesome! It's too bad that I can't pull off white t-shirts :(
You're right... it was done years ago by a guy named victor maristrane, you saw it floating around the internet, you vectored it and you're pawning off this mans artwork as your own. let alone the fact that your other designs are not nearly as advanced artisticly as this design is. I'm calling fraud on this one and trust me it's a small pond on here and stealing someone else's art and calling it your own is a great way of getting blacklisted buddy
http://maristane.deviantart.com/
That is some serious art... the guy who did this is not you and if it was you i highly doubt your art would degrade from this http://maristane.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2v03ye

I repeat it, I had this drawing along with other old ones made in stencil; the paper says it's from 2009, and I was 15 at the time, and it was similar to other drawings of mine (and just if you haven't seen them, doesn't mean I'm not able to do them). Anyway I'm not so stupid to do such a thing, I know how the internet works: if I copied it back in the days I didn't remember and if it's actually like this I'll contact the original artist and send him all the money.

Getting this! Don't have any money, actually have to beg my friend to get this for me today, lol.
I can't believe that art theft has got through this site as a chosen tee design when there's hundreds of other original artists who put their time and effort into making their own original designs!
Qwertee - if "thesimbie" can't prove that he actually owns the design, I personally would have it removed. Profiting from a design that is stolen from the original artist without their consent is illegal. :/
Totally agree. The point of this site is to provide 'one-off' designs not 'rip-off' designs.
Gettin this for some1 special.... hope he doesn't read this :)
Its the Dark Knight Joker.
Hello guys!
It's not the first time someone uses my design for t-shirts and stuff without my permission. Unfortunately there's not much I can do when they vectorize it, because they can claim they have the authourship over the vectorized version and it's more difficult to get things straight.
The real problem is when someone claims to be the author of the original work/concept. Then we have some laws being broken.
I'll talk with Qwertee staff, thesimbie, let's solve this the friendly way :).
nice work victor, sorry this happened.
Well, I'd say it's rather obvious what the right way to handle this mess should be: keep the shirt on sale, but hand the money over to the guy who actually did the hard work by drawing the original image, i.e. maristane. And then kick out thesimbie along with every fake/dupe account of his you can find, starting with "scabdesigns"
This is seriously ridiculous. To have the audacity to <b>completely</b> rip off a design and upload it. For shame.

Thanks Guys, just to say we'll sort this out and make sure the correct person gets the credit etc for their design.
Please keep future discussion to the design itself now, thanks!
I've contacted Maristane and qwertee. I told him all the money will, of course, go to him, and that I wish to close my account. I really had this drawing in my old stack, but evidently I copied it for personal use back in 2009. I was 15, so I didn't remember this. I really thought it was mine, and stupidly didn't do any reverse image search. Damn I'm sorry. I know that fraud is illegal and that if I do something wrong I risk to end living on a street, seeing that I have no money, so really guys, try to believe me. I sincerely believed it was mine. I feel badly now, seriously. I'm sorry... farewell.
You're an absolute sham, thesimbie, still trying to lie right now even though you've been found out. Even if the money goes to the original artist, perhaps they didn't want to sell it in the first place? But getting back to the design, absolutely awesome, but I couldn't buy it knowing the "actual" designer hadn't given their permission.
It is clearly a vectorised version of the original artists artwork, not a vector of a drawn copy 'inspired' by the original, anyone can see that based on how perfectly it matches. As such, little 'woe is me' stories aren't likely to convince too many folks, I'd imagine. Especially when the only thing you are truly sad about is the fact that you got caught before the money cleared.
Hopefully Qwertee will make sure that all monies go to the original artist. And hopefully that artist then doesn't mind that so many people will be enjoying their splendid artwork on a qwertee t-shirt. Alternatively if they do mind I'm sure that most would understand if Qwertee did a cancel and refund on this one. It really should be the (true) artist's choice, either way.
You're talking like 2009 wasn't under three years ago. I remember drawings I did in 2009. I remember drawings I did in 2001, when I was 15. Typography drawings like this take many attempts of trial and error to get absolutely perfect, and you'd damn sure remember the many hours of effort you'd put in to make this. It's an insult to the artist, ignoring the fact that you actually stole it and claimed credit, that you'd belittle the skill and effort he put into making this as something that you could have doodled up a couple of years ago and since forgotten about.

Exactly my sentiments. When you look at likeness to Heath Ledger, you know an awful amount of time has gone into the work. It really is brilliantly done.
Look here, it's not even been vectorised from a self-drawn copy like he claims, it's literally the original picture from that link up there put in Illustrator with Live Trace run on it. The artifacts from live trace are clear if you recognise them, the pointed extremities have been cut short and squared off, and none of the curves are particularly smooth because it was done with a low/medium res version of the original.
Oh dear :( 'tis a sad day for shirt designers!
Very cool! Wish I could afford all the shirts that come up on here.

Thanks Guys,This is sorted out now in terms of the original artist getting the credit/commission.
Qwertee, the tee still says it is by thesimbie, so it's not being credited to the proper artist? I was gonna buy this last night, but after reading all the comments and seeing the dispute, I stopped. Now it's gone up in price, so I'll have to leave it. It really is a great design, but it's a bad state of affairs when someone's design is stolen like that, and put out there for the world to order on a t-shirt. Hope he didn't mind that happening, but at least he's getting the commission, I suppose.
Guys, everything is ok now, no worries :), I'm very thankful to the Qwertee team for solving this so quickly. I wish you to know that I have no hard feelings about TheSimbie. I've been talking with him via email, he's a nice person just like anyone, and I only hope he can learn the most from this in order not to get in this kind of trouble again, whatever his true story is :).
So, you're completely free to vote for the design to be back on sale :). And soon I'll be sending some new designs ;).
Come devo fare per ordinare questa maglia?!
